Most air conditioners can be completed in a single day, although larger or more complex projects may take longer. Many homeowners assume bigger is better, but an oversized system can cool your home too quickly without properly controlling humidity. A system that’s too small may struggle to keep up during hot Kentucky summers. Chapman Heating & Cooling performs a detailed evaluation of your home before recommending a system. We consider square footage, insulation, ceiling height, windows, airflow, and sun exposure to help determine the right fit. Proper sizing helps improve comfort, energy efficiency, and overall system lifespan.
AC installation is a broad term that can refer to installing a cooling system in a newly constructed home, an addition, a remodeled space, or replacing an existing unit. AC replacement specifically refers to removing an older air conditioner and installing a new one in its place. No matter the situation, professional installation matters. Proper sizing, airflow adjustments, and careful setup all play a major role in how efficiently and reliably your system performs over time. Chapman Heating & Cooling helps homeowners in St. Matthews choose solutions designed for their home’s specific comfort needs.
SEER2 stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio, and it measures how efficiently an air conditioner operates. Higher SEER2 ratings typically mean better energy efficiency and lower operating costs. The right SEER2 rating for your home depends on your budget, how long you plan to stay in the home, and your overall energy goals. Some homeowners prefer a more budget-friendly option, while others choose higher-efficiency systems for long-term savings and improved comfort features.
Yes. Chapman Heating & Cooling offers financing options with approved credit to help make air conditioner installation more affordable and manageable. We understand that installing a new AC system is a major investment, and many homeowners prefer paying over time rather than paying the entire cost upfront. Our team can walk you through available financing plans and help you find an option that fits your budget and comfort goals.
While portable or window units can be installed by homeowners, central air conditioning installation should always be handled by trained professionals. Installing a central AC system involves electrical work, refrigerant handling, airflow balancing, system sizing, and code compliance. Improper installation can lead to higher energy bills, reduced comfort, poor airflow, system damage, and safety risks. In many cases, DIY installation can also void manufacturer warranties. Chapman Heating & Cooling’s NATE-certified technicians follow proven installation standards designed to protect your investment and maximize long-term performance.
A new air conditioner can absolutely help improve indoor air quality when properly installed and paired with the right filtration and airflow setup. Modern systems often provide better humidity control, improved air circulation, and compatibility with advanced indoor air quality products. Chapman Heating & Cooling can also recommend additional indoor air quality solutions such as air purifiers, upgraded filtration systems, and humidity control options to further improve comfort inside your home.
Our whole house humidifier was not working and we called Chapman Heating to check on it. Our technician, Michael, checked our furnace and humidifier and determined that the furnace had a part that was not working properly. He had the part ordered. He returned when the part was available and installed the part and determined humidifier was working properly but the thermostat was not set to operate the humidifier. He reset the thermostat and the humidifier is working perfectly. Michael was very efficient and knowledgeable and made the needed repairs to our system. His work was 5 star. I would give him and Chapman 10 stars if possible.
Jeremy and Alan were both great. We had a difficult situation that needed to be addressed and I appreciate their professional and pleasant problem-solving skills. Jeremy has been here before and always been very good at listening to concerns and has incredible work ethics! After being very frustrated for a few months, it was nice to see our concern being addressed and issues corrected.
Michael was the most patient and knowledgeable service tech from beginning to end. He was polite and courteous and put on booties over his shoes everytime he entered my home. He took the time to show and explain things to me in a way I’d understand. We wouldn’t call anyone else to service our HVAC.
